John Griffiths, MD
Dr. Griffiths retired from Midwest Eye Care in June 2008. Prior to his retirement, he was a specialist in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery, cataract surgery and laser surgery. Born in Auburn, Nebraska, Dr. Griffiths completed his medical degree at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha. Following an internship at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. Dr. Griffiths practiced as a solo practitioner from 1971 until 1987 when he merged his practice with Midwest Eye Care.

Additional training included a preceptorship in ophthalmic plastic surgery at Wilmer Institute in Baltimore and a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic surgery at Manhattan Eye and Ear Institute in New York. Dr. Griffiths was board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and was a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
